on trips, i'd just bring the D700 (with the strap attached) with 24-70mm and one flash (usually SB800 with the lightsphere collapsible attached). lately i don't bring tripods anymore and the camera, lens and flash would fit nicely in my camera bag.

when i'm travelling at my destination, the camera is usually never in the bag. i have it strapped on my shoulder all the time.
